Hi there.

The loss of response from the bilateral femoral motor nerves may indicate a nerve root compression problem, or a primary nerve problem like ALS.   The lack of motor innervation can really cause the muscles the nerve supplies to shrink or atrophy.  The first sign of these events may be weakness of the involved muscle group.  The condition of the vertebral column should be assessed to rule out extrinsic compression.  This can be done through an MRI of the spine.  The MRI may also demonstrate if there is a primary nerve problem.  I suggest you discuss all of these options with your doctors.

Regards and God bless.
