Fingers skin tenderness and burning

The symptom described in the title is my most debilitating Fibromyalgia symptom.  I makes a kind of sense that I would hurt the most where I use my body most.  But this is really a problem! My finger tips are red and tender and hurt when I use them.  Is this likely a central sensitization type problem or inflammation?  It did seem that when I was trying some NSAIDS that it got better.  But there were the side effects.  I am on Lyrica which does help me.  I am wary of increasing the dose because I don't want to get to the point where I've developed resistance or there no longer is a dose high enough to help me.  Plus I think that when you are on Lyrica, you have developed a degree of "addiction".  That is, you cannot just stop the drug without suffering tough side effects.  My current dose of Lyrica is low, 150mg a day divided into two doses. What is a course of action that I might consider taking?  I will, of course, review with my Rheumatologist before taking action.  Why don't I ask my Dr. this question?  Mostly it's time.  Not enough time during the appointment.
