Gabapentin

Hi could anyone help me please?I have been prescribed gabapentin for a neuropathic pain in my neck as anyone had this and had any problems with it thanks mary

I had severe level-ten eat-the-gun neck pain and was prescribed Gabapentin many years ago. Gabapentin was addictive, caused confusion and lack of sentience, loss of mental functioning, anger, and headaches. It did absolutely positively nothing for the pain. I can only say this experience was anecdotal. I eventually ended up with a pain specialist, who straightened the issue out.

My father had an acute disturbance and confusion state after 3 days of minimum dose of 100 mg gabapentin ,, I need to isolate the causes for this severe issue from this drug or from the fever and infection in lungs ... it was terrible mental confusion like drunk ,, with leg movements like epilepsy..

the doc wont prescribe it now he as prescribed amitriptyline instead as he said this would be better for me but to take it at night

Just to add a ditto to Selma.  I too was on gabapentin for a while, it upset my stomach awful and I just didn't feel good taking it, so I switched to its cousin, pregabalin (Lyrica) and I did just fine with years of taking it.  Both drugs almost overnight stopped the severe pain in my lower spine, so if pain is still your issue, then pehaps Selma's thoughts would work for you.

  Hi I was also given it for pain and it did not really help the pain.....but,  the issue I had with this med was I already had IBS and this only  made it worse while I was on it.

  So, I stopped using it.....I am now on Topamax  to help with my HA pain....and it works better then the gabapentin did.
