PLease can some one help answer

Hi,

About 9 weeks ago after having a bad cold, I noticed a slight twitch on the tip of my tongue. The twitch does not happen at rest, it actually happens after i move my tongue, only on the very tip. The twitch comes and goes, some days it is really bad (every few minutes), other times I go a few days without it.

I have had body wide twitching for a long time, but those twitches are different, they are sporadic, happen at rest and are really not specific to any particular muscle.

I had a brief exam by a neuro about 5 weeks ago, he said not to worry and that its no big deal, probaly anxiety or stress related.  I had an  EMG exam 2 years ago when my body wide twitching began, normal. My speech seems to be ok, I eat like a horse (no swollowing problems), The twitching seems to get worse with physical activity ( running etc.) and with stress or anger.

I have no idea what to do any more, I am really scared it could be ALS. Please if possible, could you answer my questions.

1. In the setting of ALS, does the slurred speech come first or the twitching?

2. In the setting of ALS, are the twitches constant or do they go and come?\

3. In the setting of ALS, after 10 weeks of twitching, should I display some other symptoms ?

4. If this is not ALS, what else could it be?

5. Do you recommend I go for another set of tests?

6. Isn't it weird that my twitching happens after movement ?
