Thank you!  Since I started taking Lamictal my attention span has skyrocketed!  I get easily distracted and have short-term memory loss.  The cocktail of meds I take for mood and anxiety are:  Lamictal 300mg, Effexor XR 300mg, and now just recently started taking Adderol for the distraction caused by the Lamictal.  So far the Adderol hasn't had much affect.  Would you recommend as a replacement for Lamictal?

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
Yes Lamotrigine or Lamictal can cause memory problems. It can also cause loss of attention and inability to concentrate. These side effects however do not occur in everyone who is taking Lamictal.
Please consult your physician about it as you may need dose adjustment or switch to another medication.
Take care!
