Hydrocephalus help needed

Hi

I have just been treated for Hydrocephalus and had a VP Shunt fitted 3 weeks ago.  I am 28 I had a knee operation and the antheatist tore my spinal cord which is what has caused this.

I have a few concerns that i hope someone can help with.

My legs violently jerk usually when i'm relaxing.
Very embarrasing i keep wetting the bed (i am still numb from the failed spinal)
I am really wobberley on my feet (i look drunk) the hospital said this would only last a couple of days, 3 weeks on i am still as bad.
and also, my eye has like a mist over it, is this normal?

Please can anybody help.  Thanks

regarding incontinence plus VP shunt plus hydroecephalus how does this work?  My six year old son has hydrcephalus and has been wetting his bed for a few months now. He has an adjustable VP shunt.  Would an adjustment help to solve the incontinance?

Hi, Buncey
Do you know what type of VP shunt you have now?
Is it one that is programmable?
The things you mention are the very symptoms that make docs think of hydrocephalus.
I'm not a professional but deal with adult hydro in my own family, and doing so means you learn everything you can.
Sometimes a shunt works its magic really quickly; sometimes you need to give it more time.
Have you asked your doc at what pressure your shunt is set? Can he adjust the pressure? (Like with the Codman shunts)
