In pain please advise!

I have been experiencing an increase of pain, numbness and tingling in my arms and hands with the right being much worse than the left. At night i wake up 2-3 times with my extremities on fire, burning painful and completley numb. The pain is unbearable at time. I have decreased grip strength and drop things alot. Everyday getting a little worse. Now I have a pinching feeling in my lower back that makes my feet go numb. What is going on?????

Thank you for the advise. I will check in to this before it becomes more serious. Bad enough I am having difficulty picking up my 5 month old daughter! Thank you

Dr Rajgopal did a good job explaining the possible reasons. It is very important you recieve an evaluation from a physician as soon as possible because the damage could become irreversible. Rigfht now it appears nerves are being intermittantly pinched (compressed). If they are pinched long enough and hard enough you can end up with chronic pain and disability. X-rays are obsolete for evaluation of this problem. The MRI gives the physician a good look at exactly what is pinched and where. Early intervention is essential in a problem of this nature.

Hi,
The symptoms of numbness and tingling along with burning sensation in the extremities may be due to spinal nerve compression in the back and neck. The causes could be disc herniation, protrusion, spinal stenosis or many others. Please go for MRI of  spine and consult a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helps you.
