Is it possible for my symptoms to be perminant?

I am a 19 year old male who has suffered 8 concussions from football and various other sports. These are only the ones that have been diagnosed and are all from within a 5 year span. I have seen a neurologist as well as having 2 MRI's and a CT scan but all the results said everything was functioning fine and would just take time. It has been over a year since my last one, but I am having difficulties returning to work as when I do I get spells of dizziness where the floor feels like it's moving under me as well as blurry vision, and sharp headache that only last a short amount of time. I have been able to push through it for now, but will these symptoms last forever?

That is an impossible question to answer. With a concussion there is swelling, which impinges upon blood vessels, which may cause death of brain tissue. For decades they believed brain tissue would not regenerate, however recent research suggests that brain tisue may regenerate. The likelyhood is you will recover, but this is not a certainty. Make sure to avoid future concussions. You need to have this well-documented. From my standpoint your high-school footbasll coah should be criminally prosecuted for not pulling you from the game after the first concussion. Consult your mom or dad about seeing at attorney. You may have a lifetime of problems and the school should eat the medical bills as well as paying for suffering. I can understand why you were not pulled from ther game after the first two incidents, but eight concusions are unaceptable for high-school sports.

Are you in the care of a GREAT neurologist, preferably someone who has a lot of experience with concussions?

It's helpful to have a professional monitor your symptoms.

I appreciate the concern, as well as the well informed answer, but it was not entirely their fault as I myself made several stupid decisions when dealing with this, I just wanted to know if my actions will affect me for the rest of my life.
