Loss of feeling in legs

I have recently, on occasion lost feeling, in first my right leg and then bilaterally. I had an MRI done and the results are as follows ;

There is scoliosis of the lumbar spine convex to the right. No Mass lesion present in distal thoracic cord or conus. Degenerative marrow oedema on the left side at L2/3.

At L1/2, The spinal canal and neural foramen patent. Disc height is preserved.
At L2/3, there is severe reduction of disc height toward left side with left lateral disc and osteophyte coplex. Moderate narrowing os left neural foramen. Mild narrowing of spinal canal. Right neural foramen patent. Moderatw facet joint degeneration on the left side.
At L3/4, severe reduction of disc height toward the left side associated with disc and osteophyte complex. Moderate to severe narrowing of left neural foramen. Moderate narrowing of spinal canal. Mild narrowing of right neural foramen. severe facet joint degeneration on right
At L4/5, severe reduction of disc height toward the right side. Severe facet joint degeneration on the right. Severe narrowing of the right neural foramen and right lateral access. mild narrowing of spinal canal. mild narrowing of neural foramen bilaterally.
At L5/S1, severe reduction of disc height towardd the right side with right lateral disc osteophyte complex. Severe facet joint degeneration on the right. Severe narrowing of the right neural foramen. Spina canal and left neural foramen are patent.
No paravertebral soft tissue masses.

Comment: Moderate narrowing of spinal canal at L3/4.
Severe narrowing of the right L4/5 neural foramen and severe narrowing of the right lateral recess at L4/5.
Severe narrowing of the right L5/S1 neural foramen.

I have seen an orthopedic surgeon and he has recommended epidural injections of cortisone into my spine.
I am worried I may have a more severe problem that won't be resolved with the injections because in the last three months I have lost feeling in both legs and fallen down. I am worried I may loose feeling permanently in my legs.
Sometimes I have strong pain in my back and legs and then my legs go week and if I don't sit down I loose feeling in them. I also have mostly have a chronic back ache.
The strong pain runs down firstly my right leg and then my left leg and is relieved by sitting and that way I can avert the loss of feeling in them and therefore avert collapsing.
I can walk for about 30 minutes before I have pain in my legs and stand for about 15 minutes and the pain is always relieved by sitting.
Can you please advise if I should seek another opinion for treatment and the likely hood of any permanent damage.
Thank you,
ma12gg34.

So sorry to hear about the issues you are seeing with losing the feelings in your legs- I am sure this must be scary!

I can't read your MRI report- but I would encourage you to go and get a second opinion if you are nervous that the doctors course of treatment won't really prevent permanent damage.  It never does hurt to get a second opinion!

Hoping you are feeling better soon!
