Lumbar Puncture

I had a lumbar puncture done under fluro near the end of september and since then have been dealing almost daily with extremely pain that is causing me to have difficulty finding a comfortable position to be in.  I am going to my chiropractor trying to get the pelvic region straightened out, but have found that the headaches that are supposed to be helped by this LP are still there and the pain is hindering my work to the point of making me feel like vomiting and is completely distracting me from my work and family.  I have tried to call my doctor and his secretary told me to push through it without knowing all the details.  I am in the position where I am losing my faith in the medical world and need to know if this is common for after LP for it to irritate for this long with someone with Degenerative Disc Disease.  I am only 26 I don't know how much longer this can go on before I lose my mind.

that is what my neuro is telling me but it is not a confirmed diagnosis yet i have only seen her 1 time. i see her to get the results of everything on tuesday. when they called to tell me the results of the spinal tap they said that it was elivated (21 according to my family dr).  my family dr said that he wasn't sure how reliable the results were due to the fact that the hospital that did the lp had me lying flat on my stomach.  he was also surprised that it was a radiologist that did my procedure and not a neurologist. so i don't know.  i am still getting the headaches that were supposed to be releaved by the medication that my neuro put me on. so i have had 1 headache for 8 years and get migraines on top of that a few days a week.

thank you for your response.  i went to my chiropractor today and he advised me that my spine and pelvis is in alignment and that this could either be caused by my degenerative disc/joint disease or the new medication that i was put on which is diamox.  rare side effects for diamox is muscle cramps and pain.  everything from my pharmacist says to go to my dr. but i know that if i try to make an appt that they will just blow me off again.  i am tempted to just wait until my neuro appt to say anything because even her office is so busy you can't get an answer.  my chiropractor also said that this is not normal and if they are not going to help with this pain it is going to have harsh consequences in the future.  right now all i can do is heat and ibprofen with some tylenol thrown in which does nothing i feel like a tree not being able to bend my daughter can't even touch the skin of my back without causing extreme pain.

I am very concerned that you are not being attended to with yourdebilitating symptoms.  If you would have contacted me with your presentation, I would have you in my office the same day looking for signs of meningeal irritation--possibly meningitis.  You could  have other findings that need attention so you really must find another medical provider or just present yourself to an ER and get a neuro consult.  You must be seen is the bottom line and you are not having a normal response this far out from your LP.  I wish you the best.
