I am a female who will be turning 31 in October of this year. I know as we tend to get older, not all things work as good as in our younger years. However, most of my life for as long as I can remember, I have always had stomach problems. Sometimes I can eat spicey foods, other times it puts me to bed for days on end. I have a very hard time digesting mayonnaise and milk along with many other seasonings for different foods. I've noticed that within a few hours of eating and drinking the two (mayo & milk), I need a gingerale to calm my stomach.
In addition to the stomach problems, I can't take horse pills of any kind. I gag everytime I try to ingest any vitamin supplements. Because of this I believe that I am missing out on some very important nutrients. I get fatigued very quickly after running up a flight of stairs or walking a quarter mile. My latest attempt to cure this was making an appointment with my doctor to get a B12 injection. I am hoping this will help in the areas where I am lacking. Has anyone had a B12 injection? If so, could you provide some feedback as to what I can expect from it. Will it bother my stomach? and, How long does it take to become effective?
HELLO EVERYONE,
I AM A 32 YR OLD FEMALE WHO HAD FIFTH DISEASE IN NOV OF 01, SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD MUSCLE WEAKNESS AND SOME NUMBESS IN MY LEG AND ARM. ALSO SOME JOINT PAIN AS WELL. IT HAS BEEN THREE MONTHS AND IT IS DRIVING MY CRAZY. BEEN TO SEE A NEURO MRI WAS NEG AND HAVING AN EMG STUDY DONE ON THURSDAY. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT THANKS SO MUCH AND GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE
The B12 may have dropped, but it is still in normal range. If you are concerned about the B12 shots, make sure you're getting the right dose and the pharmacy is giving you the right concentrations. SOme physicians feel the MMA levels are better markers than B12 levels for gauging true deficiency.Perhaps your new neuro will agree to getting one.
The new neurologist will probably want to see hard copies of ALL of your MRIs brain and spine, and possibly your pertinent lab reports. An eye exam would be important as you say your vision is worsening. We do accept medicare at the Cleveland CLinic. So if your neurologist doesn't work out, we'd be happy to see you here. Best of luck.
