Burning sensation in back of Right thigh

I have a burning sensation in the back of my right thigh. 48, non smoker, had some back problems years ago, but nothing major.  it started a few weeks ago, once or twice a day, for 30 seconds or so. no pain really, just weird feeling of very hot area.  it is getting more frequent and longer. now comes down from middle of buttocks to nearly at the knee and has been there for nearly an hour today.  happened about every half hour today.
I would loveto get an idea what it could be.

My recommedation would be a re-evaluation in regards to your back.  Sounds like something is going on with a lumbar nerve root taking consideration your past medical history with your back.  At first I was thinking a sciatica problem, but you did not mention anything about pain.

I would recommend seeing a NEUROLOGIST and having NCS and EMG testing done.

Hi, Thank you very much for your question; although it is quite hard for me to give you a precise opinion here without being able to examine you, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern. It seems like a slipped disc condition in spine as you have back pain as well. In slipped disc or disc prolapse conditions symptoms may originate due to nerve root pressure, pressure on the spinal cord and pressure on the tail bone. Common symptoms could be paralysis of muscles, pain radiating to the arms or legs, leg pain and numbness, tingling, or weakness. Warning symptoms can include loss of control of the bladder function, paralysis & spasticity of both the legs. Since you are suffering continuous weakness and notice reduced strength of muscle bulk in left leg, please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away. Further referral to a physiotherapist for spinal exercises could be beneficial and may produce relief of symptoms. Hope this helps. Take Care & Stay Healthy!!!

Sounds like sciatica symptoms.  What kind of back problem did you have years ago?
