Update: The pressure pain and sensitivity has improved significantly. I believe I may have been electrically shocked through the finger when connecting my truck battery. This may have caused the pulp nerves to be irritated. I am not ruling out infection. Thanks.
Hi. Thank you for your question. Yes it could be possible that you can develop a pulp infection without even cut or damage. Please consult a doctor for a better insight of the situation. Hope this helps.
As far as I can tell there is no swelling or redness in on the fingertip, unless the infection is just in the pulp area. Is it possible to get an infection in the pulp on its own without having a cut or injury? I had been working a truck and I am not sure if I damaged it in some way. I was connecting a battery and I am not sure if I was shocked while connecting the negative or positive volt. Could 12 voltage shock damage the nerve? Seems like I should see a doctor.
Thanks.
Hi, Thank you for your question. It sounds that it might be due to infection on digital pulp space of the finger that is compressing nerves. It will create pain while performing any activity or on pressure. I would recommend that you consult a general physician for an examination and incision/drainage of the space. Hope this helps.
