Posioning for mercury

Have moving musel pains, vomiting, vertigo, and twenty other symptoms of mercury posioning. And the doctors don't want to check for it why?
Are they affared their office will have to be cleaned up by the EPA or OHSA? If it's true!
I work with fluorescent lighting handling hunderds of lamps daily, with more then 50% breaking when removed, and storage is in an open space with open containers. And the posion control center will not check me without a doctor note. Help!
Do you know of any doctors that would help? That would be willing to test under my group insurance or send me to the posion control center, standing, walking badly, and falling apart!
How many other people do you think have problems like this?
Two other workers have the same problem with their doctors?

About 18 months ago, I discovered that a mercury filling in my tooth had come out and I was totally unaware of this until the dentist pointed it out to me.  I can only assumed that I had swallowed it and this was most probably while I was pregnant (as I had my teeth checked during first trimester and then about a month after baby was born).  Am I or my son likely to be a risk from mercury poisoning?  I ask also because I have been getting strange headpressure feeling on left handside of head with the feeling of numbness in my face (although I am not numb) on and off for last 7 - 8 months and unfortunately I cannot have MRI till January as I am 34 weeks pregnant.  So far, I have passed with flying colours all manual exams by the neurologist and also my eyes are looking healthy.  My son so far seems healthy enough.

Hi there,
Sorry to hear about your condition. What you do describe does appear to be Mercury poisoning but just signs and symptoms are not enough.
It is very well known that it causes problems in the brain, and can also injure the neurons that supply the muscle and sensory nerves. In addition the literature I read stated that chelation has not been proven to speed recovery. But as you are probably aware already penicillamine is less toxic then DMSA. There can be late effects of mercury toxicity, which can not be predicted. There are two types of mercury intoxication, inorganic and organic. Based on the weakness symptoms, this would be more consistent with inorganic toxicity. I would recommend trying to find a toxicologist who can perform an evaluation, and be used as a resource for you.
If you have any further queries do get in touch with me.
Regards,
Dr Sylvester, MD
