at what dosage dose and length of time does prednisone cause brain damage and memory problems, thinking problems?

there is an online researcher video that says prednisone destroys neurons in the hippocampus and shouldn't be given to stroke victims

I'm already having brain damage, fog from sleep apnea and 73% O2 at night so I don't know if klonopin and prednisone helps or actually causes brain damage

Hello dear and welcome to the medhelp forum. Steroids can be life saving drugs indicated in various conditions but with associated multiple side effects. In the nervous system, it can cause depression and psychosis. Prednisolone can also aggravate pre-existing seizure disorder. Certain precautions that your physician would be taking care of are, using the lowest possible dose, for the shortest time, alternate day dosing can be followed if possible, and gradual withdrawal to limit the adrenal suppression. Usually a treatment for more than 3 weeks is taken as long term. I cannot advise the dose, which can cause neurological symptoms and side effects. Consult your physician for the needful in your case.
