Hi guys! I'm one year post op since having my fusion surgery at the Chiari Institute. (My spine was going into my brain and brain stem because of a botched chiari surgery years before at my local hospital, really crazy stuff. I got a bunch of screws and rods to keep my head up proper.)
So here's what's happening. About three weeks ago I got a pretty intense headache, and I got extremely cold, wearing three coats, two pairs of gloves, and four pairs of socks and still feeling like death. I ended up having my "structural seizures" as I like to call, not pseudo or epileptic I have major muscle contractions, spasms, twitches, intense shaking, complete paralysis and Charlie horses everywhere.
It was going on for a few hours and the only thing that stopped it was going to the ER and getting a whole bottle of morphine to make my muscles stop reacting. I'm typically conscious and can talk but sometimes the shaking gets so intense it knocks me silly. I'm incredibly battered and sore afterwards and have a hard time remembering anything.
Well it didn't stop, the next day I had another one, and another, everyday, until my nurse in New York prescribed me muscle relaxant. Then I started going paralyzed instead for several hours like in a coma. Yeah.
I happen to have been going to college, and knew this couldn't continue so I was shipped back home. The night before I fainted without warning, just dropped and out. Scared me kind of bad because I've never fainted like that before. And I've fainted again since coming home, and can feel it coming on sometimes like the grim reaper watching over my shoulder. But the Chiari institute says my CT scans look fine. Plus my vision is going as well. Since I've started fainting my optometrist says my vision is all spotty and I can't see out of certain parts of my eyes.
Any ideas from you folks?
