Problems that come back in wintertime

Hey, i am Jonathan, 30, last year near November i expierienced what i thought was a spider bite in my room, i called the hospital on everybody i got told the swelling atop my foot was a ganglyon cyst and when they brung me back my knees reddened and i have a synovial cyst on the right side of my knee, i self treated for anything to help it heal, epsom salt mostly, i started getting muscle twitches in my foot, a distant non existant like nausea sensation in back of my mind, and insomia for like only three nights like my energy won't stop, i waited awhile while attending church, i searched massive information on the net until everything stopped, no fine tiny muscle twitching, non existant nausea, the insomnia eased after awhile tired after 16 hours back to normal, the only thing i noticed was excema and flaky skin and brown discoloration on top of my feet, peeling between toes, very mild not diabetes like, even pre diabetes, just lookalike sort of, because i bodybuild and ive never had things like this happen to me, the only thing i came up with is minor occasional smoking and poor circulation because i have smoked with friends and asked people for a cigarrette here and their, strangers and friends, my mother is a nurse at Tampa hospital and she just tells me silly things are caused the fasculations, i do cough and feel tiny heartburn feelings and strain on the throat though, the time passed the heat weather improving circulation then everything came back right around wintertime again its started driving me nuts again i sometimes rarely get full body jerks, i self disturb with analysis the tickling pins needles and the peely skin between my toes is gone and the chilblains only on my small toe have dissappeared totally, they arent tender to touch, i know what the hell came over me this winter like last winter,

Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor.

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

It must be emphasized that in the MAJORITY of cases muscle twitches are benign meaning that they are of no consequence and are not resulting from a serious cause. In such cases, the twitches may be related to anxiety/stress, caffeine, and often occur after recent strenuous activity or muscle over-use. It is important in such cases to reduce stress/anxiety levels and to reduce caffeine intake. Tremors of the hands can be physiological that is exacerbated by stress/anxiety and caffeine.

Benign fasciculation syndrome, which I will abbreviate as BFS, is a condition in which there are involuntary twitches of various muscle groups, most commonly the legs but also the face, arms, eyes, and tongue. If the diagnosis is confirmed and other causes are excluded, it can be safely said that the likelihood of progression or occurrence of a serious neurologic condition is low.

When BFS is present but not particularly bothersome or disabling, treatment is not necessary. If severe and it requires treatment, there are a few medication options though this condition is not very common, and the research that has been done on its treatment is limited. Minimizing caffeine and stress, and treating anxiety if it is present, will improve your symptoms.

Given your history of foot injury (from the cyst), it is possible that the fasciculations may be a result of a distal neuropathy (i.e., nerve injury). Typically, there will also be changes such as motor and/or sensation.

Other causes of fasciculations include metabolic (such as calcium or thyroid disorders to name a few), migraines, seizures, etc.

Often these symptoms may reflect emotional/psychiatric problems related to stress (what is called somatization disorder). The latter is a true medical condition whereby instead of a patient experiencing depression or anxiety, they experience physical symptoms, and once the stress is addressed, the symptoms resolve.

I suggest follow up with your primary doctor. It is important that you discuss your concerns with him/her. Basic lab work (such as blood counts, chemistry, vitamin B12, and TSH) is recommended.

Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.

Thanks Mr. Newey, i appreciate your response to my inquiry and you have provided me with helpful information, i have already ruled it as a definant possible combo complex due to mildly poored circulation from minor amusement smoking and scrapping free cigarrettes for personal amusement, it affects my stress and anxiety levels, smoking is not a thing to do, even as a minor kick out of getting buzzed, alchahol suits physical health better, if you drink safely and occassionally instead of weeks straight, where as smoking is made of drug chemicals and destroys the organs that support life, like i was saying, the tiny twitches have calmed after the last year, the chilblains on my small toes and the brown discolorations atop my feet are fading to white, and my airways and lungs explode for more air, a relieving warm sensation comes over my body once in a while, especially more when i get tired, i also noticed not being as sedentary has improved things. Well doc, i will live a long happy eternal life possibly now i can tell you hat, and i had some other questions off topic down below, could you answer them for me, thank you, and have a great one.

1: I have looked once in a while at info sources, and their is stories of people that have used methods to self cure cancer, baking soda, excercise, nutrition, on brain tumors, lung, liver, prostate, especially the hype and study of vitamin D, does vitamin D destroy cancer and self cure it, Vitamin C prevents it, my grandfather i never met died at 40 he had benign lung cancer and benign heart problems, my uncle Steve J was born with a huge brown cancer cell on his face, i was wondering, is their self cures for cancer?

2: Are viruses curable by the immune system, even with or without remedies, vaccinations, antibiotics, like small pox, ALS, dystrophy, AIDS, Polio, Scarlett Fever, Parkinsons disease, Epilepsy?

3: Is it true that people who never catch bacterial infection or virus or catch a fever is a clue behind being extremely healthy?

As an option do research about celiac/gluten intolerance and dermatitis herpetiformis (skin condition associated with gluten intolerance).
