I do not have the answer, however I also suffer from "RESTLESS BODY SYNDROME". I have RLS and take Requip at bedtime for it, which helps. But this RESTLESS BODY thing is a whole new monster. I have noticed some correlation with: 1) The weather - rain coming or when the barometric pressure changes, 2) When my back pain is worse, 3) Stress or Illness. There are times it's so bad and I'm jerking all over (I call this the "Heebie Geebies") and I hope others don't think I'm a Meth-head "tweeker". I wish someone would diagnose the real problem and provide a treatment. I have mentioned my symptoms to several Doctors and they all look at me like I'm nuts. I think I need to try a Neurologist??
Hi there. Restless leg syndrome is marked by unpleasant leg sensations at bedtime leading to insomnia. The cause is not known and could be seen in association with pregnancy, obesity, smoking, iron deficiency anemia, polyneuropathy associated with hypothyroidism, hormonal disorders like diabetes, kidney failure, drugs like caffeine, zantac and anti depressants like elavil. Treatment involves iron deficiency lookout and its treatment. Stop using caffeine and alcohol, and exercise to get adequate sleep may help. Drugs used are oral magnesium, carbamazepine, diazepam, baclofen, bromocriptine, etc. Consult a neurologist to investigate certain electroloye deficiencies like hypo kalemia, hypomagnesemia, hypocalcemia etc. as the cause for this generalized body muscle spasms. Anxiety is another cause. Take care.
