The neurologist  has ordered lab work and has increased his Keppra to 2 in the am and 2 in th pm....He has ordereda tilt table test to be done this Thursday. He did call and say that his SED rate is high. but would like to get the Tilt Table Test results first and go over everything with his heart dr before making any calls. We do know from cartoid artery studies recently done that he does not have any decrease flo in the side where surgery was done 3/23/11. We do know that he has veneous insufficiency also.  The way he is doing I feel like he is being set up for a massive stroke if something is not done quick...Thank you...

Hi there!

Well, there could be several reasons for worsening of seizures including worsening of primary pathology or a secondary cause such as electrolye imbalance, ineffective medication, development of nutritional deficiencies, ischaemia etc or due to unknown reasons. It would be difficult to comment on the situation without a clinical evaluation. I would suggest discussing the situation and the appropriate management plan in detail with his treating neurologist.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
