Severe hand and arm pain

I have extreme hand and arm pain when I sit for too long.  But, the worst is when I sleep.  I know that I have some issues with herinated disc in my low back but my pain is my neck and upper back, most certainly arms and hands.
I wake nightly with extreme pain. I have been trying everything, mattress change, craftmatic bed, now softer mattress.  Of course pain medications nothing seems to help.  I can barely sleep without medication.  I recently had been diagnosed with MRSA back in early November 2010 and now I have had the breakouts and have been with cycline meds.  I don't know if I am getting better or worse.  The pain has increased horribly.

HELP!

I see all my doctors this week...

I hope to have the surgery immediately.

They had already made the offer to correct.  And I was in fear of going under.
Now I just want the pain or the option for the pain to be correctly.

Thank you for your response.  I know what I have to do.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. You need to consult a neurosurgeon because of these symptoms who will do an MRI spine and check the degree of disc herniation . Severe cases would require surgical decompression like discectomy and laminectomy. Surgical option is your last go after pain killers; physical therapy, etc don’t help. Living at the far end of though options available and their dismal response may push you to decide for surgical relief. Hope this helps.
