Stifness in Ankles and Wrists

I have been experiencing stiffness in my ankles and wrists.  It is often accompanied by pressure in the back of my neck and left ear.  Some other muscles are affected, but not as severe.  Can this be caused by neuropathy?  I do at times feel a maliase that accompanies the stiffness.  I am taking a B12 supplament (250 ug/day).  Is this sufficient?
I am wondering if this is a neurological problem or perhaps related to something else like hypertension, diabetes (I am slightly high (105) in fasting glucose).  Also can carpal tunnel syndrome cause some of these types of symptoms in the wrist?

Hi I'm exepriencing the same problems, ankle and wrist stiffness after resting. I'm also on a pre-diabete level of glucose.
Have you find any specific condition and are you any better?

Thanks for your comments.  I notice that when sleeping I often awake with parts of my hand feeling like they have fallen asleep.  I will follow up with a Neurologist.

Hi there.  Carpal tunnel syndrome can explain the symptoms on your wrist but does not explain the ankle symptoms.  You may be having a systemic condition such as some form of arthritis (rheumatoid) that has not fully manifested itself.  Neuropathy may also explain your symptoms and this is mostly due to stress or nutritional deficiency.  Other B vitamins should be supplemented aside from the B12 (B1, B6).  I suggest that you discuss with your doctors about tests to the nerves such as NCV (nerve conduction velocity) to assess for neuropathy.
