I’m female and I’m only 25 but my symptoms started at 23. I have chronic pain in both my legs. I’ve done 2 years of physical therapy where we worked on plantar fasciitis, however the leg pain never lessened. I’ve gone to two neurologists. One said it seemed I had sudden peripheral neuropathy, the other said I don’t have neuropathy but “sensitivities that trigger episodes of radiated nerve pain.” My blood work came back good, no vitamin deficiency and no blood sugar issues.
The pain is worse towards my inner-calves but on bad days it radiates to my knees, up my thighs, and stops around my hips. My feet don’t hurt unless I’ve been on them for 2-3 hours, that’s usually my max otherwise I’m miserable. If I get to this point my ankles swell and I start limping (that could be the plantar fasciitis but figured I’d mention it). Triggers are usually being on my feet for longer than 2-3 hours, stress, and recently caffeine started to cause a ‘flare up’.
I’m in constant pain, some days are just worse than others. One of My neurologists gave me two packs of Lyrica samples because insurance doesn’t cover it due to it being a strong nerve suppressant. I know I’m supposed to take it every day except I use it sparingly because once I’m out of that, I’m pretty much screwed. What should I do?
I live in Illinois, marijuana is legal however my employer doesn’t care and they do drug test randomly.
