Could it be Glossopharyngeal neuralgia?

I had in March 2. weeks pain in right supero- posterior pharynx and righ ear.(ni infection). The nasopharynx endoscopy was normal. The pain has gone for 3 weeks and came back for 3 hours and gone for 3 weeks again ,but was back for 2 days ,and after 2 weeks without pain, came back for 3 days.It is not a sharp pain ,it is moderate for minutes or hours.I did MRI and in 1-2 days I will have the result.I am very scared.
Thank you

Hi there!

Though neuralgia is a likely possibility, it is relatively a rare condition and with the clinical description a less likely possibility. More common possibilities include a re-infection or a low grade inflammation. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an internist or an ENT specialist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
