Where should I go now??

Hi, I`ve posted in the past and have had some more tests done since, so I wanted to ask your opinion on where I should go from here. I started having numbness, tingling, mild intermittent eye pain in the right eye, fasiculations, and tendon tightness in the extremities 9 1/2 months ago, after my 1st baby was born. I seen a neurologist a month after it began. He performed a brain and c-spine MRI which were normal and a nerve conduction test and blood test which were normal, that was 7 mos. ago. I seen a 2nd neurologist after the first one. He did a heavy metal blood test which I think came back normal. He said he would call if anything came up w/ it, and he didn`t. He did a Somatosensory Evoked Potentials lowers test on me, which came back normal also. My symptoms are still w/ me, but slightly better. He said he wanted to monitor me for a while. What do you think I should do now? How would you diagnose me? Thanks....

Hi, I`m suffering from neurological problems too. You can read my previous posts for details. Yes, I was given an epidural during vaginal childbirth. It was placed 3 times. It slowed my labor, and I threw up w/ it. I shook all over & had a backache the next morning. I was also given Groub B strep meds for the Group B Strep bacteria which I`m a carrier of. You? What`s your email? We can all compare notes. I`m really starting to think that there`s definitely something going on here now....there`s too many women on here suffering from the same stuff, and I am really starting to doubt that MS is a part of this.

I think you were also asking if any one noticed these symptoms after stress. Yes mine seemed to show up after a particular stressful period of adjusting to going back to work, pumping at work, financial worries, and two other kids in the home besides baby. And my symptoms seem to worsen when my stress level is up. Hope that helps.

Wow I am amazed at how you and I are so similar. I tested positive for group B strep as well and received the whole battery of antibiotics during labor. The epidural also slowed my labor, my blood pressure began to drop and they kept me on oxygen and rotating me from one side to the other, and a pitocin drip to get my labor regulated. Needless to say after 9 hours of being stuck at 6cm a c-section was given to me for failure to progress.  After the section I shook all over as well for about an hour and had a backache the next day. All of the symptoms I am describing started about 9-10 weeks postpartum however now that I think about it the tingling in my hands started maybe 4-5 weeks postpartum. I will definately be making an appointment today to see a neurologists. Thanks for your help. My email address is ***@****.

Hi.  Post your e-mail address on the forum.  LMar requested that those of us with similar experiences and symptoms do so in order that she can e-mail us all a list of questions so that we can identify some commonalities.  Also, I would definitely make an appt with a neuro in the meantime.  I believe that we should always look for help from people who specialize in the type of problem we are experiencing.  Since you are experiencing neurological problems, it would be wise to start there and then keep going to other specialists based on what you learn throughout the whole process.  Good luck!!

I am so glad to finally hear others that are suffering from the same symptoms I have. They started about 9 weeks after the birth of my third child. I had a c-section after failure to progress and I also had an epidural. I have burning sensations on the back of my head that sometimes goes down my spine, in my hands, stomach and other extremites. It feels as though vicks vapor rub has been rubbed on them. They come and go and so does the tingling in my hands, I have muscle twitching in my legs, stomach area, neck, tremors in my face and neck. I also feel tightness around my neck and chest area. I have had a Brain Scan, 2-12 lead EKG's, thyroid, diabetes, catecholamines, 24hr creatinine, kidney function and all have come back normal. Now I am beginning to suspect if there is some tie in with child birth. Did any of you receive an epidural or meds while in the hospital? How long ago since the birth of your children? Call it paranoya or whatever but there has to be some tie in some where we all cannot be crazy. And I find it quite peculiar that we have all been found normal from any serious conditions. Please I am tired of all the tests and I haven't seen a neurologists as of yet, but I am sure that all of this is going to turn out normal as well. I will take any suggetions that may help me I am tired of feeling like this.
