back pain and headache following blood patch

I recieved a myleogram on Monday the eighteenth and today after sever spinal headache all week, I recieved a blood patch with lovely phentenol and so happily returned home without the headache yet some severe back discomforts....weird feelings unlike the lower left lumbar pains due to disc problems in S1 i believe this is all in the diagnostic phase for the other disc problems have been treated and continue with epideral blocks and burning the nerves. this is all different. I have never been thru this test nor the aftermath of it. This back pain worrys me and I am not sure if using heat is ok or not. I have also begun another headache.......this time it began almost like a normal headache without the occular and otticular if i spelled correctly remember my head hurts.....eyes and ears along with the fact it isnt killing me with pressure yet that it. I resumed the xanax treatment for my nerves and took yes bc of the headache since it began after arguing with my father...i have been laying down since i came home. Still the back is very tender and sore. This I pray is normal tho I can tolerate a lot and wonder if I am moving wrong jeapordizing the blood patch. AM I? My fear is going through all this again. Please help ASAP............thank u........what do i do and when is time to act?

glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing this... had blood patch done Friday night, it's now Thursday and still have pretty severe back pain.  Nothing like it was that night (when I was in tears from the pain on the way home) or Saturday (when I couldn't walk without help from my wife), but just sitting in a chair hurts, and then after getting up it hurst more for about 15 minutes, with pain shooting down my right leg to my upper thigh...

I was hoping it would be gone by now, especially since I'm now out of prescription pain meds (and advil, tylenol, and aleve all do squat)...

Hello I was just reading your letter. I just went through the same thing this past week. I had a blood patch yesterday. I feel like my back is going to bust. I was wondering if you had found out any information on what to do or how long it takes for the symptoms to go away.
Thank You
