I have just started to get the shakes bad, all over my body, drs haven't got a clue as to what it is so here I am back on the net looking, glad to find your posts to help, thanks.
I have bulging discs in neck and lumbar spine. and tmj too, so I know what you're going through. it is hell.
Low level laser therapy heals the tmj discs, you can get this at chiropractor
Thank you so much for answering my question! A month on I am doing a lot better. Thank you for explaining the shaking after my tooth extraction. I have read about similar experiences and people have asked their doctors who have no idea why this happens. Is it just me or are some doctors (most doctors actually ha!) very unhelpful? Anyway looking back on the experience I was definitely suffering from anxiety which made my symptoms worse. I'm pretty certain I have spinal myoclonus which is what is causing the jerking. The jerking is still in my legs but is also now in my shoulders and neck. I am yet to see the neurologist. My tmj dysfunction has gotten a lot worse. I'm pretty sure it is causing severe pain in my arms but several dentists have told me this is not possible. I am yet to find out with treatment. I have had recurring throat infections which I'm pretty sure are also due to my tmj dysfunction. Good news is that I am no longer going blind, I believe this was due to an ongoing silent migraine caused by pressure in my head due to muscle cramps near my tmj. A fundoscopy at my optometrist showed my optic nerves were healthy. I am yet to find out the results of am EEG and full spine MRI. I am praying that brain activity is normal and no lesions are found. Also my blood work is pristine. Thyroid function is normal and liver and kidneys healthy :)
First we need to clear up some misconceptions. Panic/anxiety attacks does NOT have to be preceded by stress, being upset, etc. They can and have arisen from perfectly calm people. Second, when you went to the ER, were any lab diagnostic tests performed on you? Thyroid function studies hopefully were done? Any history of migraine headaches or other seizure type activity? The total body shaking that you experienced after having teeth extracted is seen in many people as an involuntary response (being freezing cold as well) that arises from hormone release, and many other procedures it occurs in as well (birthing a child is one of them). The swollen lymph glands and sore throat could well be from your dental extractions (gargle with some nice warm salt water 4 x daily to help that). Typically with bulging disc pain, shaking can occur from the pain and impingement on nerves. Keep moving your arm in all directions and stay active to help with the disc bulges. If you are obese, weight loss will help significantly, so general exercise is a good thing period. Low impact ones like walking, swimming, etc. Good luck at your neuro appt.
