I have what I would call a quick disorienting feeling in my brain. It's hard to describe; it seems to have a bit of a sound associated with it. It has two quick zaps. Sometimes when it's worse, my eyes seem to want to move. I used to get this before a migraine was going to come on, but now I have it everyday. I recently, very carefully weaned myself off of Pristiq. It is a drug for depression. thought I was going to go crazy on that stuff. And that's what it is.
Have I damaged my brain by taking this medicine?

The Pristiq med for depression was actually making me more depressed. I felt suicidal on it even and angry. I was fighting with myself to stay sane. This is why I weaned myself off of it. I am still taking a couple of other med's prescribed by him.

I should correct my last comment. My mother died 12 years ago.
Please give me some feedback on this.

Thankyou for your reply. I should add a bit of family history although it may not have anything to do with this. My mother died of a brain aneurysm 112 years ago. I asked my doctor I had at the time if I should be tested for this. He said no.

HI,
How are you? What other symptoms are present? If you took the medicine as prescribed, then there is nothing to be worried about.  It could be that what you experienced are these symptoms are part of another condition or  another variant of migraine headache. To rule out any issue, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor. Diagnostic tests such as imaging studies may also be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
