cavernous angioma

I usually am not so concerned about pain, but have been having severe pain/tingling/numbness for the last couple of months in my right forarm, wrist and hand. This past week, it began in my left. I've also experienced a couple of really bad headaches during this time that have actually incapacitated me, even making me vomit. I was watching the Discovery Health Channel, where there was a woman with cavernous angioma whose symptoms sounded eerily similar to my own. Like her, I was thinking it could possibly be carpel tunnel syndrome, but is it too weird that these symptoms have started to happen lately all at once? I know that MRI with contrast is how cavernous angioma is diagnosed, but doctors don't like to do that test normally in my experience for anything until they've taken you through the ringer doing all other things to no avail.  How do talk to a doctor about getting an MRI when I know they're going to think its just another case of carpel tunnel? How do dothis without their thinking I'm a hypocondriac?

Ginger - Do you know the exact location of the angioma (I had one too.)?

Lisa - Have you ever visited a cardiologist?  You may want to wear a Holter to check your heart. A sudden drop in BP can cause fainting.

Hi Ginger:
My name is Lisa.  I too have suffered from severe headaches but my were also followed by a faint feeling or a sense of passing out.  I went through emergency and they said that I had a small amount of blood on my brain.  The pain that I felt was like someone with high heel pumps standing on my head.  They said that surgery was not an option unless it continued to bleed (in which case, it stopped bleeding).  No one can really give me an answer as to how to "fix" the fainting issues.  One doctor even suggested panic attacks or anxiety attacks.  Have they labeled yours, and did your symptoms include the fainting feelling?
