How old are you?
Are/were you a smoker?
What lab results were not normal?
Do you have hypo- or hyperinflation of your lungs?
If you have HYPERinflation, then that can be due to chronic untreated asthma or COPD/emphysema. I don't know if there are other causes-I'm not a doctor. I had significant hyperinflation of my lungs (on pulmonary function tests) due to chronic untreated asthma. At first it was not responsive to bronchodilator or steroids but eventually it responded to prednisone and later bronchodilator as well. Sometimes chest x-ray will show hyperinflation of the lungs as well.
Do you have chest tightness? A hard time taking in a breath or exhaling air all the way? Do you wheeze or cough? If you have any of these things you might have asthma or COPD depending on your age and if you have HYPER-inflation of the lungs, not hypo.
Your diffuse bone pain could be due to a number of different things-your doctors should be telling you what they think it might be due to.
