blood pressure

Because of spinal cord surgery, I seem to have trouble finding medicines that don't react.  I have high blood pressure and every medicine reacts by giving me sever joint pain (as if it dries the joints up).  Can you recommend a medicine that you have found that doesn't affect the joints?  All of my meds have been low doses too.  Pressure is about 145/85 and I am 60 yrs old.  Thanks.

My surgery was to remove an inter spinal ependemoma at C1-C3.  My spine looked like a small snake swallowed a big egg.  It was performed at Mayo by Dr. Onofrio in 1991.  I also had 6000 Rads of radiation.  Every time I start taking the blood pressure meds my joints tighten up severly.  After a week off they start to loosen up.

Hi,
The antihypertensive pills have no relation to the joint pain you are experiencing.
Can you elaborate details on your spine surgery and the reason for undergoing it.
The blood pressure you have mentioned is just above high normal. Apart from medicines do modify your lifestyle in consultation with your physician. This should benefit you.

Hello.

I am not sure if the joint pains are due to the medicines. They could be a part of a process. What was the spinal cord surgery done for ? Do you have arthritis ?

Regards
