I have a situation where two years ago I was diagnosed with Monoclonal Gamopathy. My haematologist tested me for Amy. but all tests, inc Bone Marrow Biopsy have been negative. I have had hypercalcemia, and for almost two years now have had monthly infusions of Pamisol. I recently also had infusions of Intergram, takng Melphalan and Dexamethasone at the same time.
I have peripheral Neuropathy of both feet, legs and hands. My right hand is the worst. I am unable to walk without the aid of a walker. My haematologist has said that he has ruled out Amy and Multiple Myeloma. After discussion with the neurologist, they have decided to go back to the begining and look at the antibodies etc.
I am attaching second to last blood test results. My Platelets have since gone up to 115

Note the Pancytopenia. Note the Pancytopenia.
A friend here in Paeroa thinks that I might have Gillian Barre Syndrome. However the neurologist has said that, after some tests that it is not the sheath that is damaged, but the nerves in the sheath. My haemotolgist has said that the Paraprotein and antibodies are what has damaged the nerves, hence the PN.
I have had blood tests for a Vit B12 deficiency which have been normal until recently, when they suddently showed there was a deficiency, and I am now on a maintainance course of Vit B 12,
I am 65 years of age, and am a bit scared I must admit. I hope what I have written makes sense to you, and would appreciate your comments. I had Bilateral knee replacements last year, they are really good.
Thank you
