Pain and other neuro issues

hello, I have a rather long story and I am a bit concerned. About five years ago, I was working out a lot to loose baby weight after a c-section.   I had what I thought was the normal workout pains. I continued to workout, somewhat regularly over the next five years. Workouts were walking, elipical and dancing. All the pain was in my lower back and legs. I figured I was out of shape hence pain. About three black Fridays ago my mom and I shopped for 19 hours, yes pain but I expected that. The next year we did our annual black Friday shopping, only this time I was in some of the worse pain ever after only five hours.  It took days to fully go away. It was at the shopping trip I started to wonder if anything was wrong. Of course I ignored it until August when I started having a lot of pain working out. I established a primary care Dr. which took x rays of my hips and found them to be out of alignment.  So I established a chriopractor and within a month or so, the pain got worse.  It started to radiate through my butt and down my leg and the sides, plus towards the butt, felt like the skin was sunburnt.  I don't sunbath. He then ordered a MRI which showed minor degenerative changes and spinal stenosis most prevalent at L5/S1.  I went to a surgeon who sent me to pain management and a neurologist. Pain mgt also diagnosed myofacial pain along with the stenosis and radicularpathy.  I take medications, gabapentin and tramadol, and have had 2 lumbar injections and 1 SI joint injection.  I still have pain, which seems to be getting more intense, with a lot of skin sensitivity.  Sometimes it feels like I am sitting on something other than a seat on the part of the leg which touches the seat.  Within the last six months, I have started having unusual sensations in the arch of my feet .  It is constant in the left and intermittent in the right.  The neuro did an EMG on the left leg as that is the one which bothers me the most.  He confirmed radicularpathy at L5S1.  This was last year.

At the same time, five years ago, I started getting migraines.  The have gotten much worse.  I did have the chiropractor adjusting my neck for about five months. About two months after I finished my treatment plan, the migraines came back with a vengeance.  I finally went back to the neuro and now take more gabapentin, along with amlitipline daily and sumatriptan as needed.

At the same time again, five years ago, I started having eye drs. telling me my optic nerve was cupping more than what it should, but my pressures are good. About two weeks ago, I had an eye scan done which confirmed low tension glaucoma. So optic nerve damage without a known cause.  I have been wearing glasses for 31 years.

In talking with my father, he has CIDP, and started his issues when he was my age.  It was not until I started having issues that he would confirm the issues, at least with my legs, are what he experiences.  His pain started upper legs and went down just like mine.  Both of us have a spot in our thighs which burned like crazy for a few minutes and has since been a source of aggrivation since.

The MRI is not so bad that it should be causing me this much issue. I have seen it and the neuro explained it to me.

I could totally accept that I might have done something to my back at some point and that there is some evidence of migraines and glaucoma and I drew the unlucky straw.  What no one can explain to me is why everything started at the sametime with me, at the same age my father was when he started his issues and why the pain I have is not only getting worse but does not seem to be totally explained by the MRI.

I am at a total loss and completely freaked out. I am hoping to have some light shed on this.

Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Often no cause is found for CIDP like pains. However, since both you and your father suffer from it, possibilities like multiple sclerosis, diabetic poly-neuropathy, and autoimmune neuropathy (secondary to lupus, scleroderma, mixed connective tissue disorders etc) should be looked into. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
