fibromyalgia or cervical spine injury?

Hi there! Im a 34 year old female, who 8 years ago was diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome. I was told this illness was not progressive, so when my symptoms started to progress ad worsen i was a little unsure of my innital diagnosis, due to the fact i had been given many other mis diagnosis's in the past, relating to this problem.
recently i started waking every morning with my ring and little fingers numb on both hands.
my gp finally referred me to a neurologist who thought i was suffering from capul tunnel syndrome, i was then sent for steroid injections which did not work, so was then set for an MRI on my cervical spine.
my C6/7 are protruding along with other wear and tear, (not mentioned, in detail).
what i'm basically wondering is, could it be possible that these symptoms are all related to my spinal problems and not fibromyalgia at all.
I suffer from muscle weakess in my legs arms and hands, numbness and tingling, sometimes my legs are so weak i can barely walk, yet my eurologist states that from the protruding C6/7 i will probably be suffering tigling of the left arm, yet i have already explained it was not just tingling but numbness and weakness ot just in my left arm but both and both my legs. is it likely that the wear and tear that isnt mentioed in detail maybe, more to blame for my legs etc? or can prodtuding C6/7 cause this? i also suffer from bad headaches at the base of my skull, neck shoulder and back pain, burning, aching, pinching pain, the only way i can get people to understand how it feels, is to say when you have run as far as you can for as long as you can, as fast as you can then you sit and rest, that burning aching sensation that fills your limbs, is what i feel all the time. I t worries me that i go and have the surgery on C6/7 only to find its the other wear and tear unmentioned, thats causing this and it will go untreated, leaving me in the same agony as before! what can i do to ensure this doesn't happen? thanks Anita

Hi, have seen my GP this morning, who as now referred me to a neurosurgeon. she says she thinks he will order a full MRI, as i only had a cervical MRI initially. appointment for the 3rd of June, wow the thought of finally being free from pain and numbness, cant believe after all these years of being told theres nothing they can do about it, it feels like Christmas lol!
I have refused the nerve pain meds however, as i looked into this a lot and dont really like the risk factors they come with, any ideas for pain relief, that doesn't come with the risk of seizures?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
hi tinny,
forget fibromyalgia presently. What we are dealing here is the disc prolapse. Due to this you are getting numbness, tingling sensations, etc. I would suggest you to neet an orthopaedician or a neurosurgeon and not a neurologist as they are not very agressive. If the disc is protruding a lot, you will require a disc removal operation, tht's why it becomes important to see a proper doctor.
Regards,
