my family history is fun. both grandparents on moms side have high BP, and diabetes(insulin dependent). grandpa is in stage 4 renal failure, grandma has rheumatoid arthritis and a few other fun things i forget. were not sure which is the carrier of fabry disease. my great aunt has a form of lupus, and i think my uncle does too. theres some other things on my moms side that i cant remember as i have like 15 cousins or something like that.
not sure about dads side as his mom died long before i was born and his dad left when he was little. my dad does have a thyroid condition though.
momand 2 brothers have high BP, and fabry disease. mom also has a mitral valve prolapse. we think she and my oldest bro have something else too though we dont know what as they have joint pain, (mom right side, and him knees) thoughi have that way worse, and thespecialist says its not a symptom of fabry but it says it is online so were not really sure.
thats all i can think of right now. my BP doesnt spike instantly or anything but it does build up. were pretty sure i have high BP too. and my moms in the process of setting up an appt. with a cardiologist for my heart. shes also setting one up with an internist for all of us, since if they have one they dont have to travel to houston every 2 weeks for enzyme replacement.
hope that answered some questions
I can almost relate, though my blood pressure doesn't skyrocket...it tends to be too low at times.
It sounds like the problem lies within the signal regulation that's taking place between your heart and your brain--it's dysfunctional, for some reason. When your pulse is that high, though, it makes sense that your blood pressure would get to be that high, as well...but it shouldn't be happening that quickly, and your baroreceptor reflex should be better mediating your blood pressure so it doesn't rise to dangerous levels.
What is your family history, if you don't mind me asking? Any relatives with high blood pressure, diabetes, or heart disease?
its kind of hard to not worry about this when it happens because it scares me. but when i do notice it i try to take slower breaths and lay/sit down if i can but thats not always possible, and it doesnt really help that much, my heart will stillpound and race, and my BP tends to skyrocket/ its gone so highas to consider me as stage 2, theres a family hisitory of high blood pressure and im not sure if this stems from that or whatever i have.
thanks for the help

Frequently getting dizzy when you stand up sounds like orthostatic hypotension--you're experiencing a sudden fall in blood pressure. There are actually diseases that can cause this to happen to a person often.
You might have something called "Neurally Mediated Hypotension", though this usually involves a high pulse and low blood pressure. I would check out this website if you're interested in learning more about it, or similar diseases: http://www[dot]mayoclinic[dot]com/health/low-blood-pressure/DS00590/DSECTION=causes
I think I have something similar...I get really fatigued even after walking two or three blocks, and a lot of times when I stand up, I get really dizzy, I'll feel light-headed, and I'll have a headache. It can be frightening, but don't worry too much--this isn't helping you, at all. In fact, worrying (or anxiety) can stimulate the release of epinephrine into your system, whereby it will bind with your beta-adrenergic receptors in your liver, causing your blood vessels to constrict and your blood pressure to rise, along with your heart rate (pulse).
Hope this helps!
thanks i will look that up
Chryssa....there is a condition POTS......it is when u stand all the blood actually puddles in ur lower extremities and ur heart has to work harder to get it where it needs to b....a tilt table test is used to dx.
If u google POTS u will find more info and u can check to see if u fit the symptoms.
