Sciatica

I set off with pains in my hip and left buttock which spread down my leg to my left foot.  When it reached my foot, the feeling went out of my toes and they are virtually useless.  The pain went after around 2 months but I still have no use in my toes.  As yet physiotherapy and chiroprator have not worked.
Advice please

Hi,
How are you feeling at present?
With the provisional diagnosis of sciatica, you need to be evaluated. Few basic investigations can help out in ruling out certain conditions.
Complete  blood count and peripheral smear study , Blood sugar, X-ray of lumbosacral spine. These investigations can throw some light on your problem or at least lay the road ahead. Simultaneously start taking Vitamin B complex drug supplements soon after sample been taken for investigations.
Also have an meeting scheduled with your medical officer/neurologist.

Hi,
Please get your blood sugar test done at the earliest as it could be diabetes. Also Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to neuropathy. I think you need to consult a physician/neurologist at the earliest so that the cause of neuropathy is identified.Good luck!

Hi,
How are you feeling now?
Any type of tingling, burning, severe pain, or numbness is usually a symptom related to a sensory nerve being damaged, diseased, or injured. The nerve involved appears to be originating from Sciatic nerve.
This peripheral nerve pathology can be due to Diabetes, Prediabetes, Vitamin deficiency, altered blood pressure status, any nutritional deficiency or abnormal endocrine status.
I think you should consult orthopaedician, and neurologist to evaluate your case.
MRI scan is most important diagnostic tool in your case.
Bye.
