Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. It is so appreciated.

The pain you have described involves the abdomen, legs, breast, and back. This area would not be explained by an injury to the ilioinguinal nerve. Without examining you and reviewing your history I cannot make a clinical diagnosis. It would be reasonable to have a second opinion at an academic center. The University of Vermont may be an option, otherwise a trip to Boston, Dartmouth, or Albany may be reasonable.
Your pain is widespread, and therefore I do not think it is likely to be explained by one nerve injury. However, regarding recovery, partial nerve injuries and nerve compressions have a better outcome. If a nerve is chronically entrapped and part of the nerve dies, then a surgical release may only help prevent further damage. Good luck.
