intermittent nausea, headaches, lightheadedness

For the past four months I have been suffering from symptoms such as nausea, occasional blinding headaches, and dizzyness and lightheadedness. The best way to describe how I feel is extreme motion sickness, though I have never actually vomited (just felt like it, which seems worse). The symptoms are not constant: they go through a cycle in which for about a week I feel perfectly fine, and then I feel completely sick and nauseated for the next week, then I feel fine for a week, and on and on.

I have gone to a total of 5 doctors, none of whom have given me a satisfactory answer. They tell me whatever diagnosis seems convenient at that time: in the summer, when I went to the first doctor, she told me it must be heatstroke. After that the diagnosis alternated between heatstroke, stress, anemia(all blood tests came out negative), and something about the inner ear(tests were also negative).

I would buy what they're saying if the symptoms were the least bit different, but when they appear they're always the same. The latest doctor (after I told her I would scream if one more doctor blamed it on stress) told me there might be a neurological problem and that I should get a CT scan. So naturally I'm rather worried, and while I'm waiting for my appointment I thought I would ask if anyone here has had similar symptoms before and what they turned out to mean. Thank you.

Luce14,

I went to another internal medicine guy and he said I had the Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) recently.  My primary care doctor and neurologist said I had no issues with EBV while my new guy had a very different opinion.  He put me on some antibiotics which seem to be helping.  My nausea and lightheaded spells that can last for hours seem to be gone (the medicine makes you sick though).  I am almost at the three month mark with these same issues and I'm hoping that I am finally on the right track.  If you have not been tested via bloodwork for EBV, it is definitely worth doing (my primary care never tested for this).  These issues definitely sidetrack your life.  Hope this helps.

This has been happening to me since April! I'm only 20 and no one knows what is up with me! I've been on stomach tablets and anti sickness for 6 months but nothing helps! One minute I feel fine and the next my nausea and dizzy spells take over. More recently I've noticed the weird sensation I have in my head(pressure) and headaches are occurring more frequently. I've had loss of appetite ( and I've always had a very heathy appetite) and I'm much more tired than ever. At my worst I've had to go to A&E I'm seeing a Gastro specialist but he can't work it out and I'm starting to think that it is more neurological! Any one have any tips to ease the nausea or what did they do to get the correct diagnosis. I work full time and drive a lot, I can't stand staying in the house lying around all day!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Abz73 - any outcome to your symptoms?  I got sick in China (could be coincidence) about 2 months ago and experienced nausea (no vomiting), 3 to 6 hours episodes where I could barely function or think (no headaches, though).  I would just need to lay down and let it pass.  Once it passes, I can eat just fine and have a normal conversation.  But when it happens, even thinking about picking up a phone call, for example, would be just too much to ponder.  I had a relapse of this about a month ago.  It just happens at random.  I've had now check xrays, blood work, EKG, EEG, brain CT, brain and neck CT angiogram and all negative.  In all of this I walk away from the doctors with nothing.  No possible treatment.

Anyone have similar symptoms?

Thanks,
Ben

I was so surprised when I read about you all having thses same issues. It was freaking me out. Never had these before but like 3weeks ago I started feeling pressure in my head, motion sickness (general feeling that I'm gonna be sick) nausea. It feels better when I take a nap. I find myself taking a nap on the bus!!!  The dreadful thing is these symptoms started immediately the next day, when I head my hairdresser was diagnosed with AIDS/ TB/ Hipatitis/....I went for a blood test last week and my heart pressure was a bit higher than normal. I'm checking out my blood test results this weekend....I pray GOD. That's all I can do for now...

Hey
I have been experiencing the exact same thing for about the past year, i normally just imagine that i'm sick but i've been sent home because of constantly feeling sick and especially the dizziness most people will think i have an eating disorder because of the tiredness, headache's and loss of appetite.
I'm 17 years old.

Going on a years now I have had painful headaches and extremly sleepy, Now Iam getting blare vision, feeling neasea, tired, angry, noise bother me when my head hurt or starting feeling heavy pressure on it.I am happy one minutes and mad the next, now I control it better it helps when I pray. I went to a psychic and she said someone is mean is trying to harm me. That why I am feeling that way. She told me to think positive wear light color clothes and overlook things that bother me, and especially Pray every morning I wake up. She said not all psychic is good psychic and she seem a evil female trying to harm me. I show her the pictures of this lady and she said Yes, she is evil, never talk to her again, she told me to move but it not that easy, I cant really focus like i use to.. So if you have been involves with speaking to psychic that could be the problem and that why the dr. have not found any thing. It's invisible to the human eye! I believe in GOD he will deliver me from this evil person that seem sweet but intention to harm you.. never would have thought that was possible.you pay someone to tell you your forture and they inbed hurt in your life.. scary, but over it! So watch out who you talk to, If it dont feel right, it not right! She told me that, because I really felt like she was bad, she looked strang, something happen to where I overlooked my feeling and when to her anyway, so sweet, and she was a older lady too, wow, never would have guess! listen to yourself because didnt, and look where it gotten me pain, for trusting people, which I never do anyway, but decide to trust her!
