My Son is 1yr and 8months. He started rolling only after 6months and I thought he would sit by 8-10months but he didn't do that instead he used to roll back and forth even until he was 1year..I showed to a development Specialist and they suggested for Physio Therapy, I started immediately and when he was 14months he started to sit on his own and i still continued the therapy and by 16-17 months he started crawling little and now his crawling much better at 20 months. I had discontinued the therapy for about two months that when he was 18 months and now i again started with the therapy for him..he now is kneeling and holding furnitures but attempting to stand but he is scared to do that, and while he made to hold the walker and walk he cries and his right leg he doesn't bend to walk he drags it instead very rarely he lifts the legs...what could be the problem?...therapist says his legs are fine with length wise and not that stiff but slightly...I wonder what other problems it could be??

I would also like to clarify with this delayed milestones will this delay in his speech aswell? Still doesn't say 'mama' or 'dada' when asked he says his name not very clear though...and keeps telling only the word " aaahhh" most of the time....Wonder my child will be alright be like a normal child according to his age...Please advise..

Hello.

Delayed development has been associated with a number of causes. You should get your son evaluated by a Pediatric Neurologist. This way, you will know if there are any identifiable causes for his delayed milestones.

You will then be able to prioritize your efforts at helping his development.

If you are not able to find a Pediatric Neurologist, you may still take him to a Pediatrician.

All the best.
