Hi, how old are you? Do you have history of cervical spondylosis? Weakness and shoulder pain are probably associated with cervical myopathy or neuropathy as nerve compression caused by osteophyte or disc protrusion leads to pain in the arm.
Please get MRI or X ray cervical spine done to rule out this possibility. Try topical counterirritants, diclofenac, hot compressions along with physiotherapy for a week or so. If no relief is seen, do consult neurologist.
I just turned 39. I have no previous medical issues. I went to the chiropractor and the constant pain has disappeared. Now I am pain free except when I press on the front of my shoulder joint. I am left handed and have lost about 70% of the strength in my left bicep. I have been working out regularly for about 4 months and didn't hurt myself at the gym. My left shoulder strength is down about 50%. The chiropractor recomended an MRI, but since I haven't met my deductable. I wanted some other advice before I spent $1,000 on speculation. It first appeared 3 weeks ago, and like I said, it was overnight. I dont have any numbness or tingling in my arm. Thank you for your responce. Any advice is very welcome.
Hi, in that case try topical counterirritants, anti inflammatory drug like diclofenac and hot compressions for a week or so. Loss of muscle strength is usually associated with neuropathy leading to myopathy.
