magnetizm

recently i have learned that my cervical fusion (c4-c5) has become magnetized and now is traveling throught my body, has anyone else experienced this, and can anyone refer me to anyone who will admit and or prognose this issue,as throughtout the various and extensive search of health care professionals that i have contacted and seen none of them will admit the actual fact yes you are magnetized nor can answer any of my questions or refer me to anyone else who has knowledge of this or could diagnose anythig specific, can anyone help me?

I may be misunderstanding you again (sorry), but in your next-to-last sentence, you say, "how does this site work as far as personal contact for that other info?"  I have to assume you mean the link I gave you?   Just copy that line with the link and paste it into the web address rectangle window, hit return, and it will take you to that webpage with the information that would tell you about some studies done on improving fusion by using magnetism with the repair.  That webpage is a National Institutes of Health site, so it's a good one.

If your surgeon used that fusion repair technique with magnetism, could be it takes a while for it to wear off, despite the scan clearing you for MRI etc.  I'm glad you ordered copies of your records.  There is an "Ask A Doctor" section at this website here at MedHelp, for a small fee I think, and you could try that, perhaps, for a better reply.

thanks for your returned correspondance and im open to conta\ct anyone who can help. i have submitted a written request for all my op reports, in addition metal fillings will cause reactions also. this field has its days and sometimes it is extreemly strong and makes me wonder. initially i thoufgt i had spiritual company and then when my parrot starting freaking i realized it was more than me it travels with me and causes some very strange reactions exspecially when i walk around with my cell phone on my upper chest. i realize i am going to have some serrious problems but i had to come to terms with it and get in the right frame of mind (acceptance). i appologize for subjecting you to transference as i get the .same. responses and i need more again i appologize. .i have had a scan 4mos after the initial surgery and was told i am mri and security clearance friendly now ifear xray scans and anything that might cause uncertainties.im ok so far and prefer to keep it that way and i dont want to have to live my life quarenteened..    how does this site work as far as personal contact for that other info? thanks for having an interest it provides me with a sense of comfort

Bless your heart.  I meant no harm.  I think your description of coins clinging to your neck was excellent to explain what is going on.  I found a link about a magnetic surgical technique to help fuse vertebra, so maybe your surgeon can tell you whether he did this or not.  If he says no, then you should have a scan done of your neck to see if it reveals any sort of metalic object in your neck that could be the culprit.  Here is that link I referred to:

thanks for your reply but i think u may had misinterpreted what i am saying. i can toss coins at my neck and they adhere to my body, my cell phone will cling to my neck, flatware, paperclips tweezers etc.... cling to my neck and now has traveled down my spine where my pelvic area has a magnetic feild. my orthopedic. personal care accupunturist physical therapist, phyc ther. and attorney have all seen objects cling to my body NOT my body is being pulled to magnets its that objects are clinginging to me. U can call it what u will and i know about magnetic and electrical fields as i used to work as an electronics tech/jr. engineer in i.b.m. test equipment electrical engineering ergo, when i tell you that i have a continueous magnetic field i believe i have enough education to acknowledge this and yes; supposively titanium does not get magnetised unless other composits have been encorporated with the titanium or the titanium has been damaged scratched etc... and due to the fact ther is a cell phone tower on the hill behind my house emmmitting magnetic feilds maybe there just might be a little more to this. additionally i have ambilutory issues i cannot specifically research things as would prefer. Unknown to the medical diagnosis theroy new issues are relevant and turning up every day.I thank u for your comment and if you want to see this id be willing for you to come c for yourself and when you acknowledge it maybe you would empathize with my concerns as research clearly indicate that high and or continueous magnetic feilds will eventually lead to brain cell cancer and this is y i was reaching out hoping someone can answer my questions and not provide me with a text book responce. I appologize if i sound defensive as i have experienced everything u had indicated from various resources at this point i would just pray someone with knowledge of any of the above would respond.

The only magnetic item relative to neurology and surgery is a magnetic neurostimulator that is placed in the body to provide pain relief, and since you just had two vertebrae fused, I don't imagine they needed to put one of those in you.  If you had had one implanted, your doctors would have gone over this in great detail, as there are various situations where the batteries or radio transmitter lead might wear out, warnings against having an MRI, lots of issues would have been discussed as relates to any such implant.  It is not a usual sort of thing to be using, and in fact most people who have this device to not have the transmitter implanted, rather it is in a remote device outside the body that activates the nerve pain stimulator gizmo.  Also, it would be in the records of the fusion surgery, as well as the records of any doctor who takes care of your back situation.

Now, human bodies have natural magnetic fields.  This is a kind of chemical thing and all people have this.  It is not unique to particular individuals.  The field is reminiscent of the one that goes around the earth from pole to pole and other sites.  But a person canNOT walk past a magnet and suddenly get pulled up against it or anything, otherwise we could not have an MRI scan at all.

Was there something that set off your thinking, to where you thought you were magnetized as relates to your fusion?  All surgeons in the free world use titanium screws and metal brackets to help the fusion process, and they have no magnetism whatsoever, part of the reason they use those things now.  I suppose it's possible you are feeling a hum or are sensing your energy passing thru your body... for example, when the art of acupuncture is used, where they stick tiny needles into specific parts of the body, the theory is they open up the "chi," which in Asian medicine, where the pratice originated, means "energy."  One time when I received a special type of intense massage, some pathways like that were opened, and I could feel ENERGY rushing up and down my body, which was the chi, and nothing magnetic at all.

So, could be whatever makes you think you are magnetized with some foreign thing as relates to your surgery is nothing to do with your surgery at all, but is rather a sensation you cannot quite identify.  Another example of this is pain from the sciatic nerve.  I get this wild and crazy electrical hum that hurt a lot and goes from about my hip to mid-calf, it is transient in its effect, I can do nothing except wait for it to stop within about 15 seconds, and then it's gone, and this is because a nerve is being impinged on and sends that pain message and electricity (nerves are like electrical wires) down the nerve.

Give us more feedback, and maybe someone else can peg what this is for you, too.
