Hi there. Meningitis vaccine has certain side effects like severe weakness or pain in arms and legs, high fever, low-grade fever with chills, headache, fatigue etc but usually observed 2 to 4 weeks after the vaccine. You need to consult a physician though it is unlikely to be meningitis since it is not a live vaccine and cannot cause even a mild form of meningitis or septicemia. Hope this helps. Take care.
today i feel a little bit better, still achy, still have a really bad headache, very sensitive to light felt sick to my stomach earlier but soon got over it. i still feel bad but not as worse. also, another question i have is that i have been on lots of medication in my past and a friend brought up that my immune system could be weakend from the medication and since i got the shot and had a dosage of the meningitis i could have gotten it?
i had to get it for college, it's a requirement at my school and all i know is that it was a meningitis vaccine.
Hi...the vaccine is a requirement for all freshmen admittance to college.
never heard of such a vaccine, did a quick look and it seems it was developed and available only 1 year ago for Africa meningitis A
so is MenAfriVac what u took?
why did u get a meningitis vaccine
good luck
While I am reluctant to have one wait for seventeen hours at an emergency room, I would not hesitate to head there for a proper evaluation if the symptoms continue over 24 hours. At the very least, as selmaS has suggested immediately contact your regular physician for advice.
It is extremely unlikely that you have contracted meningitis from the vaccine. But you may be having a reaction to the vaccine. Every so often a manufacturing issue causes a lot to have problems. Usually these side-effects are self-limiting.
Contact ur Dr asap and let him check u to see if it is the flu or a reaction to the vaccine.
Do not wait...whenever u have a reaction to meds or vaccines u need to inform ur dr.
