mri Results

I had a cervical MRI and the results are posted below. I will only see my doc in few weeks and the latin words are scary to me. Symptoms are neck pain, attrocuous pain in right shoulder, and tingling in top of forearm into the index and middle fingers, cold (cavity) feeling in my elbow.
****
Findings:

The craniovertebral junction is normal.  No signal anomaly in the cord.  The bony alignment is normal.  The bone marrow is unremarkable.

C2-C3:  No hernia.  No spinal or foraminal stenosis.

C3-C4:  No hernia.  Small left uncovertebral osteophyte.  No spinal or foraminal stenosis.

C4-C5:  No hernia.  No spinal or foraminal stenosis.

C5-C6:  Mild disc space narrowing.  Small posteromedial tear in the annulus fibrosus associated with a tiny disc protrusion indenting the thecal sac.  No spinal or foraminal stenosis.

C6-C7:  I suspect a very tiny posteromedial disc protrusion with minimal indentation on the thecal sac.  No spinal or foraminal stenosis.

C7-T1:  No hernia.  No spinal or foraminal stenosis.

Conclusion: Tiny disc protrusion at C5-C6 and C6-C7.

Hi,
Thank you for your time and thorough answer.

I work in an office, my elbow rest only goes to 29 inches while my desk is at 32 inches. That causes me to have an improper posture during an extended period of time.

Following a fall in the strairs in December 2012, the tingling started in January 2013 in my lef elbow and kept increasing strenght until April where I had an episode where my elbow was on fire and again in June. In July I had to stop working.

Up to know I feel pain in my shouder at night (stabbing sensation) that wakes me up. I have no strenght in my right arm and I am now loosing sensation in my little finger.

C3-C4: Small left uncovertebral osteophyte (small means how big?, osteophyte is a growing bone following an injury, how long after an injury does the bone starts to grow?).  No spinal or foraminal stenosis. (Does that mean that there is no nerve affectation?)

C5-C6:  Mild disc space narrowing(what does that mean? Mild is how big?).  Small posteromedial tear in the annulus fibrosus (what are the implications of that?) associated with a tiny disc protrusion (tiny must be smaller then small and mild? What causes a protusion in the disc?) indenting the thecal sac (what are the implications of the sac being indented? What is happenning following the indentation? What effects does it have on my body?).  No spinal or foraminal stenosis.(Does that mean that there is no nerve affectation?)

C6-C7:  I suspect a very tiny posteromedial disc protrusion (very tiny must mean very small?) with minimal indentation on the thecal sac (what does that mean?).  No spinal or foraminal stenosis.nosis.(Does that mean that there is no nerve affectation?)

Thank you sooo much,

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems.  Well, since there is disc protrusion between C5-C6 and C6-C7 it could be causing radiculopathy of C6 and C7 spinal nerve roots which also supply the arm and palm. The treatment is neck exercises, physiotherapy, maybe traction and pain killers. You should respond to this treatment.
Hope this helps. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
