MRI results

These are my MRI results. I am an active member of the military and only 28 years old and a female. I am not overweight and my back hurts often. Some days i cant even walk. Is there anyway that this is not degenerative Arthritis

FINDINGS: The visualized vertebral bodies are normal in height, alignment, and
marrow signal. The conus medullaris is visualized at the level of L1 and is
normal in signal. There is minimum dessication of the L3-4 disk and L4-5 disk.
Incidental note is made of a T1 and T2 hyperintense signal in the T12 vertebral
body consistent with a hemangioma.

The following levels were examined in the axial plane:

L3-4: Small focal right paramedian protrusion that minimally effaces the
ventral thecal sac and abuts the traversing L4 nerve root in the lateral aspect
of the thecal sac.

L4-5: Small focal central protrusion that indents the thecal sac with a left
paramedian component that approximates the traversing L5 nerve root in the
lateral aspect of the thecal sac.

L5-S1: No evidence of disk bulge or protrusion. No neural foraminal narrowing
or central spinal stenosis.

IMPRESSION: TWO LEVEL SPONDYLOSIS WITH DISK CONTACT OF THE RIGHT L4 AND
POSSIBLY OF THE LEFT L5 NERVE ROOT

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. You have L3 L4 and L4 L5 level disc spondylosis which is caused by chronic wearing away of the cervical spine, including the discs and joints between the bones of lumbar spine. These changes can press down one or more of the nerve roots and the spinal cord in advanced cases. This could be causing the back pain and difficulty in walking. Certain triggers for spondylosis are past spine injury and severe arthritis. You need to show to a neurologist; therapy options available are NSAIDs, acupressure, epidural injection of steroids, physical therapy and exercise under supervision, lastly decompressive surgery. Hope these help. Take care.

you could talk to the docs about the nerve contact and see about some injections to calm down the nerves from firing back all that pain. I'm so sorry you are suffering so terribly, I too have been living with unbearable back pain...I hope you find answers and a treatment that can help you!
