Thank you.I've heard about the epidural injections. So far no one has brought that up.
I'm going to spine clinic on Friday, maybe they will talk about it then.
Hi there. Your MRI spine documents degenerative disc disease, which must be impinging on the nerve roots. This may be a new spine level than the previous operated ones. You have been prescribed Percocet or oxycodone, which is not providing adequate analgesia. There must be adhesions and fibrosis in your spine from the previous two instrumentations and fusion impinging on the exiting nerve roots. There could be nerve root compression of nerves passing through the spinal canal. You must consult a pain physician who is an anesthesiologist for the possibility of epidural steroid injections under fluoroscopic guidance and a physiotherapist for the apt exercises and physiotherapy sessions. Failing these, surgical decompression is the only option left. The prognosis and outcome should be discussed with the neurosurgeon before hand to know the factual possibilities. Take care.
