What do you mean by slipped disks? Do you have a disc protrusion, herniation, or a real slipped disc?
Hello.
Slipped disk can be of varied severity. There could be a small bulging of the disc or more severe protrusions and tears. Depending upon the extent of your slipped disc problem, there can be surgical management or non-surgical, conservative management.
If the MRI shows a small bulge, without significant symptoms, you can go in for physical therapy with some analgesics. If your symptoms are more severe and the disc is compressing upon the nerve roots and the cord, you should think of a surgical correction of the condition.
Please consult your spine surgeon or orthopedic surgeon for further management.
Regards
i had a bulging disc for 5 years and suffered with occasional twinges until one day the pain was in my ankle - the lower the pain the more teh disc has slipped and is bulging on the nerve that runs down your leg
you can take dicolfenac (anti inflammatories) but its very hard to relieve the pain....usually surgery is best to take away the part of the disc thats touching the nervei had tramadols which didnt really help - it was only when i went to hospital and they put me on morphine for 24 hours was i put out of my pain!
its now a year since i had the op and im great - im back in the gym and am so happy i did it. proper to the op - about 4 months before i had a injection....like an epidural kind of thing - it worked for about 3 month - for some people it can work for a year but the bext advice i can give is just to get the disc shaved or partly removed to take away the most horrendous pain ive ever experienced
