left wrist and shoulder

I have been nursing a 'tired' left shoulder joint for about 5 weeks now. It does not impair my mobility but causes slight discomfort and sense of strain if I move it. Then, a day or so back, I started having these spasms in the left wrist about a minute or more apart. It would be a short-lived ripple and a slight ache. Anything to worry about? Self-help remedies? Thanks.

Hi.

I wish you good luck. Would you describe your wrist spasm as a contraction of the muscles, where you can't hold things with the hand for a while ? And have you noticed any change in your breathing during such a spasm ?

Thank you Abhijeet. Being more than a little consultation-averse, I'll try and see if it 'goes away' by itself. Else, it'll have to be an MRI I guess! Thanks.

Hello.

You could get an MRI of the cervical spine. Meanwhile you can fix an appointment for a Neurologist. This does look like a nerve impingement. If it turns out to be so, appropriate treatment can start.

Regards
