no one can help

My legs been cramping for years, and the pain is so bad, that, I can't walk on them...It wakes me up in the middle of the night,  It started about 6 months ago in both of my arms...The lock and the muscles get so tight that the slightest movement, and it gets tighter, the pain is so severe, that if I had pain medicine close by, I would take them all.  I can't even move to take medicine...It just happens at any time....It could last as long as 45 min.  I cry in such pain, but I can't move....Novw my fingers and hands in the last few weeks are becoming numb...They hurt to move, and the numbness in the right hand is now becoming steady....Dr. Janoff who is a neurologist, saw the spasm, and said he never saw this before.  I have to take the EMG soon, but had it done a year ago on the legs and nothing showed up..My lower lip 2 days ago started with a numb feeling....Please help, my fear is that one of these days, it's going to happen and it won't go back...I am only going to be 50, and when there is no pain, I am fine....No one knows what to do for me...My youngest has seen it so many times that it scares her.  No one in the family has this...Also it starte in my upper thigh a couple of months ago, and now it is in the groin muscle and that is so painful...Please help, tell me who to go see or what to do....I need a doctor house....

Can I ask how they determined it was not MS without a brain MRI?? I was under the impression it was needed to rule it out! That's y I had my brain MRI was to rule out MS and they found chiari......u could have RA, but I really would stress getting tested for nething it could be and rule things out systematically.....well drs would depend on what  dx u r looking to treat....if u have a NS suggest some of the conditions u feel ur symptoms match that u were not tested for....however, I still don't know how they ruled out MS.....if u get dx'd with chiari, I can suggest a very good dr...in Great Neck NY.....I am planning on going there.
As for ur corpal tunnel...I was dx'd with tarsel tunnel and corpal tunnel....had surgery for the tarsel t and recently found it wasn't TT it was the chiari!!.....

One last thought, have they checked ur vitamin and mineral levels?...low levels of potassium or magnessium can cause charlie horses ect.....

keep me posted!

I had the MRI but not of the brain...I thought MS, they all say no...New problem is, is that my right had is starting to give out...Hurts so bad....I am a righty, can't bend the fingers, and having a hard time holding things in the hand....I'm a cooking and I don't no what else to do...I am also a single parent, and I need to work..If I stop working then I can lose my house....I can't do that....I already had surgery  about 5 years ago for corpral tunnel....and a broken wrist...(feel off ladder cleaning the gutters)  I know the pain of the tunnel, not it....This is totally different. Thanks, if you no any good doctors...

Have u had an MRI of the brain?...cervical spine....??? to rule out possiblities...of MS...Lupus...Lymes .....or chiari.....ne of these conditions can cause the symptoms u mentioned along with quite a few more I did not mention......I had the EMG also...it will only show if it's a block....not if it's a neuro problem.....so it helps rule out corpal tunnel and tarsel tunnel.....and ne other pinched nerve sinerio.

all of the conditons mentioned have forums here along with health pages to the right of the screen ( scroll down) for info...as well as the forum members themselves!

Good luck
