Aaron had a lumbo-peritoneal shunt sent @ 160.  He is still taking diamox 250mg bid.  He has much difficulty with both lower legs....a feeling of electric or an "itch" inside his skin he can't get relief from.  It's driving him crazy...will this subside?  thanks!!

Hello.

Can you please confirm if your son has the lumbo-peritoneal shunt? If he has, a head movement pain may not be associated with a shunt dysfunction.  His shunt probably is working fine. He has the headache due to a change in the intracranial pressure.

You will need to get the shunt checked regularly.

Regards
