visual problems, but eyes are fine?

I have been having vision problems since last spring, my problems are with night vision, seeing bad glare, halos around lights, blurry and hazy, plus i feel vertigo and have been stumbling a lot at night. also things like coming into a darker room from outside, working in flourescent lighting, etc its all affected.  I can't really read a night and have a hard time on the computer at night.

I went to the opthamologist who ordered a cat scan and retina test and they came back normal, and now the eye doctor doesn't want anything to do with me saying there is nothing wrong with me.

its affecting my life. i can't drive, even walking around by msyself at night i feel like people keep walking into me, in my way, and i trip often an just feel light headed and wierd. Plus i'm a student at nightschool and work full time in the day.

My family doctor thinks i should see a neurologist... ?  I'm only 30 yaers old so i'm not ready to just accept my that i'm loosing my night vision

thanks for any insight

oh boy    I am a 27 yr old with 2 kids and I have all of the same symptoms.  I have been on this website a lot lately.  Mine started about 3 months ago.  I have halos, floaters, blurred vison, I am really dizzy.  I don't even drive with my kids at night because I am so scared.  I have been to the mayo and seen eye doctors, neurologists, so many doctors it is very frustrating.  I also have body aches and some other things going on but still no answers.  They do have dizziness test where you can figure out if you do have vertigo or some inner ear problem that is causing that.  I have done all of that and it all came back fine.  I have had mri and ct of my brain and spine, pretty much everything done so I am just hoping that it is something that will pass with time?????  good luck to you but you are not alone with this one I am greatfull to hear stories about vision problems and no answers, it just drives me nuts.  take care

While problems with vision is commonly seen with advancing age, it is not impossible for young adults to experience this.  As your visit with an ophthalmologist has returned negative findings, a consult with a neurologist is indicated in your case, as your night vision problems may probably have an underlying neurologic pathology.
