severe HEADACHE since last 15 years

I am a victim of severe HEADACHE since last 15 years. when i was 13 yrs old.. headache becomes more severe in cold weather (due to allergy) and in tension

I now have a problem of chronic constipation and depression since last 2.5 yrs with below mentioned all symptoms as well, I tried almost all medicines for constipation upon doctor’s advice but all treatments failed, then I have tested TSH and it was 6.5 before 1 year, doctor prescribed 50 mcg thyroxin every morning.
And now I am taking 150 mcg Thyroxin medicines and TSH is now 0.668, which is in normal range, but my weight has increased a lot and still having headache all the day and fatigue and constipation to some serious extent. More importantly, the side effects of thyroxin started appearing i.e. swelling on my face, feet, ankles. Please advise me should I stop thyroxin or what to do?

other Symptoms:
• I have you been putting on weight the last 2 years very rapidly, and having a hard time getting pounds off and keeping them off
• Always feel sad and depressed at peak
• Sometimes feel cold when others are comfortable
• Feel more tired more easily than anyone else
• Feel throat tight when you swallow.
• Having greater intolerance, digestive problems, depression, anxiety, aches & pains, severe headache
• Constipation and gastro problems
• It takes awhile in the morning to get going
• I m now more irritable than I used to be, and have mood swings very quickly

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. You have many symptoms of hypothyroidism. Do you have a thyroid swelling too which is causing tightness in swallowing? You can consult your endocrinologist with your thyroid profile and dose of thyroxin can be reduced keeping in view the reduced TSH. Check for any element of autoimmune thyroiditis where you can have constipation, difficulty concentrating, dry skin, enlarged neck or goiter, fatigue, hair loss, heavy periods and irregular, intolerance to cold, mild weight gain, joint stiffness, weight gain and swelling of face. Lab tests to determine thyroid function are free T4 test low, Serum TSH high, T3 low or normal, Thyroid autoantibodies incl. antithyroid peroxidase antibody and antithyroglobulin antibody. Hope this helps. Take care.
